EVELYN ODONNELL WALKER (nee WALTON) On September 21, 1999, Evelyn Walker, age 81 years, passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband George Rupert Logan Walker on February 29, 1972. Evelyn leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, Heather (Don) Chennells and Susan (Mathias) Gradt; grandchildren, Kelly (Amy) Chennells, Kimberly (Byron) Mudry, Andrew (Sheryl) Gradt, Amber Gradt, Robert Chennells (Tracy) and Kaysha Chennells (Paul) great-grandchildren, Chase and Faith Gradt, Mason Chennells and Riley, Mudry; sisters, Muriel Walker and Myrtle Herbert, all of Winnipeg; foster son Robert Franklin and family in Vancouver, BC; plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Evelyn was born January 2, 1918 in Reading Birkshire, England. She grew up in Winnipeg and attended Luxton and St. Johns High School. She was a member of Ivy Rebbecca Lodge. She was a Teachers Aid with Winnipeg School Division No. 1 until her retirement in 1985. Evelyn enjoyed doing many crafts at the North Main Center and enjoyed many trips across Canada. She spent many summers at her beloved cottage at Whytewold Beach with her husband, family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Colin MacIver officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evelyns memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., R2L 1X3 or to a charity of choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
