JEAN TURNBULL It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Muriel Jean Turnbull, aged 87, on September 23, 1999 at the Grace General Hospital. She was predeceased less than a year ago by her loving husband of 55 years, Lloyd Turnbull. Jean will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Marilyn Turnbull and two granddaughters, Megan and Rebecca of Richmond, BC; and her daughter Margaret Turnbull and spouse Stephen Haddad of Winnipeg, MB. Born in Mission, BC, Jean was educated and taught school in Alberta until her marriage in August 1943. Jean and Lloyd moved to Winnipeg in 1945. Next to her family, Jean loved her church which was the central focus of her long and happy life. She was blessed with many friends from McClure United Church with whom she worked for years in the music and mission of the Church. She was a life member of the United Church Women. Jeans quiet ways will be missed by her family and friends. The following quote hung on Moms wall for years and reflects the faith that guided her life. I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year; Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown And he replied Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. at McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place, with Rev.
