Date of Passing: Sep 20, 1999
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA GATES HUTCHISON (nee SLASOR) DAISY Peacefully, on Monday, September 20, 1999, our beloved Auntie Daisy slipped away at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1964; her sisters, Margaret, Dora and Winnie, and brothers, Bob and Dick. She leaves to cherish her memory nephew Richard Slasor (Jan) and children, Oriana, Craig and Claire. Daisy was a very special auntie and friend. She also leaves a sister-in-law Noel Slasor; nieces and nephews, Rosalie, Diane, Rick and June, and Pat and Cathy and families. Daisy was born in 1902 in Lake Megantic, Quebec, coming to Winnipeg with her family as a young girl. Throughout her life, Daisy enriched all those fortunate enough to meet her. Her many years of curling and bowling provided fond memories for her later years, including serving as President of the Ladies Grain Exchange Curling Club. Daisy and Harry spent many summers at Brereton Lake in the Whiteshell, a reminder of Harrys family home on the Miramachi. After Harrys death, Daisy acquired her drivers license at age 62, embarking on a cross-country trip to Parksville, B.C. in her 70s with her oldest sister Margaret. A special thanks to Kitty Newcombe for her many visits, teas and treats. Also, a special thank you to her Belleville Family, Gerald and Barb Roy and children. Thank you to West Park Manor staff for the many years of looking after Daisy and her sister Margaret Mitchell, with special thanks to Brenda K. In keeping with Daisys wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family service of interment. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, Ste. 105 - 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R6. A Very Special Lady Daisys family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of: WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897-4665 09-25-1999
