HARRY MASLOVSKY Maslovsky, Harry age 90 died peacefully at his home in Winnipeg Mb. on September 20, 1999. Born April 17, 1909 in Middlechurch Mb., the son of Joseph Maslovsky and Chava Maslovsky (Soloman). Harry grew up on the family farm in Birds Hill Mb. In 1942 he married Sally Abramsky and moved to Winnipeg. He was a lifelong employee of the Canadian National Railways working first as a machinist at the Transcona shops and later as a carman at the Symington Yard. He retired in 1974 at the age of 66. During that period, Harry had also worked briefly as a machinist at Bristol Aerospace. He was predeceased by his wife Sally in 1975, his sister Carrie Maslove in 1982, his brother Samuel in 1995, and his Brother Hymie Maslove in 1996. He is survived by two children, son Joel Maslove of Calgary and daughter Sharon Knazan, her husband Murray, grandsons Michael, David, and Steven Selchen of Winnipeg, step grandchildren Josh Knazan of Winnipeg and Eliana Knazan of Pine Brook, New Jersey, also dear friend Shelly Letkeman who befriended Harry 21 years ago and became like a second daughter. Pallbearers were his grandsons Michael, David, and Steven Selchen, nephew and grandnephews Joel, Avi, and Daniel Maslovsky. Honorary pallbearers were his friends and minyan companions with whom he attended daily services until his death: Sam Golubchuk, Percy Golubchuk, Harry Garfinkel, Joe Frank, Ernie Bronstein, Morris Bronstein, Shlomo Benarroch, Machluf Muyal, Issy Brass, Joe Weisenthal, and Mr. Rich from New York. Special thanks to Art, Romeo, and Sal for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, The Talmud Torah Beth Jacob Synagogue, or the charity of your choice.
