Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ALEXANDER ROSS Peacefully, on September 23, 1999 at the age of 90 years, John Alexander Ross passed away at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his wife Winnifred in May of 1999, an infant daughter Dorothy Winnifred, as well as his parents and one brother Allan of Minnedosa, MB. John is survived by his son David (Rita Romsa Ross) grandchildren Tetjana (Jeff) Friesen, of Victoria, BC, and Konrad Ross; one sister Jessie Rodgers of Edmonton, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was born in Minnedosa, MB, on February 5, 1909. He attended the local schools, graduating from the Minnedosa Collegiate and attended one year of Normal School in Winnipeg. Dad taught school for a few years in the Dauphin District, he then attended United College to obtain his B.A. and Theology Degrees, and graduated in 1936. Dad started his ministry in Redlake, ON. He moved from there to Forrest, MB, where he met and married his wife Winnifred, on November 1, 1944. They then moved to Kenton, MB, where they started their family and spent the next 30 years ministering in numerous communities including; Manitou, Reston, Foxwarren, Warren and Shoal Lake before retiring in 1974 in Winnipeg, MB. The lives of many people were touched by his kind and gentle spirit. Memorial service will be held on Monday, September 27, 1999, 2:00p.m. at the St. James United Church, 234 Parkview St. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Interment will take place at the family plots in the Brandon Cemetery, on Tuesday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. James United Church in Dads memory.
