STEPHEN WALTER KNIGHT
Date of Passing: Sep 23, 1999
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN WALTER KNIGHT With much sadness we announce that our sweetheart and father passed away, on September 23, 1999. The last eight years or more have been tough ones for him with no chance of complete recovery. He leaves to mourn his loving family, his wife Bert; son Doug (Bea) and grandchildren, Robin and Brad; daughter Carol, granddaughter Nicole, and great-granddaughter Taylor; daughter Diane (Ernie) and grandchildren, Alan, Susan, Michael, Jeff, Dinos and Rick; and great-grandchildren, Justin, Melina, Elicia and Summer; his sister Lillian Jeffrey, and several nieces and nephews. Steve worked hard all his life. In the 1930s he and Mom Brown operated two Maxwell House Restaurants; one on Sherbrook and Broadway and another located on Langside and Broadway. They were well known and enjoyed working with people. Steve then joined the Army and upon his discharge bought Venus Venetian Blinds. He expanded the business and took many trips to the Orient. In the mid 1950s he built and operated Knights Restaurant in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Steve was past President of the Winnipeg Lions Club, and also a member of the Shriners and different lodges. His later life was pleasurable, spending time at the cottage at Clytie Bay, loved puttering around, and also fishing. Steve had many friends there and loved them all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steves memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H9 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. We love you very much GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
