TURNER (SOLNIK) (nee NIZLOSKI) February 7, 1921 - September 26, 1999 Surrounded by her family, Bernice Turner, aged 78 years, of Winnipeg Beach, our loving wife, mother and Nana passed away peacefully and suddenly at the Victoria General Hospital. Survived by her husband Len; mother Mary; daughters, Lois and Trish (Maurice) daughter-in-law Nell; grandchildren, Dan, Allan, Candace, Terra, Jason and Adam; sisters, Jean and Ann (Nick) numerous nieces and nephews and her extended family. Bernice was predeceased by her father John, son Allan and brother-in-law Paul. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a very kind, thoughtful, gentle woman who always put others needs before her own. She touched us all in so many ways. We will always remember her and her legacy will live on forever. Bernice was an active member within the community, belonging to St. Bartholamews Anglican Church, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #61 and Ladies Auxiliary of the branch and Lakeside Seniors Club. Bernice was loved by all that knew her. The family extends their sincere thanks to the Victoria General Hospital Emergency Dept. and to the nursing staff on the 3rd floor for their kind and gentle care during her short time spent there. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at Gilbarts Funeral Chapel in Gimli, Manitoba, on Tuesday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ken Pawluk will officiate. Interment will follow at Robinson Spur Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gilbarts Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Bernices memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of ones choice. Gilbarts Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
