Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL CULBERT Peacefully on September 24, 1999, Mike Culbert passed away at the age of 74, after a long battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his estranged wife Anne Culbert and his sons, Don (Sian) and Richard (Jeannette). He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Jean Bevilacqua, Chris (Tom) Crothers, Martha (Harry) Fox and brothers, Tom and Bob. Mike was predeceased by his sisters, Anne (Norman) Kappy and Elsie (Dan) Loewen, and his parents, Mary and Nicholas. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Megan and Dylan; his stepgrandchildren, Courtney and Shannon and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike especially enjoyed the time spent with Mr. and Mrs. Alec Taylor. Mike grew up on Barber St. in the Pt. Douglas area losing his father at the age of 13. Mike had fond memories and tales of the Old Neighborhood. Mike worked most of his adult life as an electronics technician at C.A.E. Ltd. and for a few years prior to retirement in 1990, he was a storesman at Bristol Aerospace. Mike spent many enjoyable summers camping in the Whiteshell and visiting Norman and Anne Kappys cabin at Trout Lake, ON. For the past 30 years Mike especially cherished his time at the family cabin at Malachi. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Foundation on Mikes behalf.
