SHIRLEY RUTH HAWES On September 24, 1999 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, Shirley Hawes, aged 67 years, a lifelong resident of Selkirk, Man. Shirley was born in Selkirk on April 11, 1932. She had been employed for many years at Imperial Motors and had also worked at Burns Credit Union for a number of years. In her earlier years Shirley enjoyed playing womens baseball and bowling. In recent years she enjoyed going on short trips to the U.S.A. with her friends. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Marguerite; two sisters and five brothers. She leaves surviving a brother Gordon of Selkirk; sisters-in-law, Alda Hawes of Selkirk and Marg Goodman of B.C., and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Knox Presbyterian Church, Selkirk with Rev. John Hogerwaard officiating. Private family interment will precede at the St. Clements Cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
