MYCHALINA LUBASZCZUK (LENA) Peacefully, on September 25, 1999 at the Misericordia Hospital, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lena Lubaszczuk, passed away after a lengthy illness. Lena was a longtime resident of Transcona, having come with her husband in 1927. Here they established their home and raised their family. Throughout her long life she devoted herself to her home and family. She loved to cook and prepare large, festive meals finding pleasure in providing for others. Lena also loved the outdoors and took great pride and delight in her wonderful flower beds at Rice Lake. Her comforting presence shall be sorely missed. She leaves to mourn her sons, Stanley Lubaschuk, John (Johan) Luby; grandsons, Wayne (Debbie) Luby, Gary (Susan) Luby and great-grandchildren, Jeffery and Bonnie Luby. We, the family, would like to express our most sincere thanks to the staff at Misericordia, for the excellent care provided and also a special thanks to Debbie Luby for her loving assistance. Friends may call to pay their respects Tuesday evening (tonight) between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral service to follow on Wednesday, September 29 at 1:30 p.m. also at the chapel with Pastor H. Bachmeyer officiating. Burial at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary and Susan Luby, Wayne Luby, Syd Hepworth, Boyd Hepworth and Ken Stackiw. Honourary pallbearer will be her special great-grandson Jeffery Luby. Transcona Funerals Chapel in care of arrangements.
