KENNETH G. McLEAN With deepest sorrow we announce that Ken passed away at Grace Hospital on Saturday, September 25, 1999. Ken is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 52 years, Bette (Duguid) his daughter Susan Watson and her husband Trevor and two cherished grandsons, Kyle and Keith. Also survived by his brother Bruce and wife Connie and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; son Kevin in 1986 and granddaughter Krista-Anne Watson in 1980. Growing up in Fort Rouge he attended Gladstone, Lord Roberts, Earl Grey and Kelvin High School. He was a member of the Winnipeg Rifle Association (Reserve) in 1943. Ken was a longtime member of Calvin Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, and was a member of the Board of Managers. He was employed at the City Hydro, Western Canada Motors, Winnipeg Free Press and for 30 years at GMAC retiring as the Accounting Manager. He was active in all sports and curled at the Strathcona Club and the Grain Exchange. He bowled 10 pin with the WBA Seniors and also with the Red Alex mixed league. He golfed with the seniors and coached and helped with his sons hockey team. Ken and his family enjoyed 40 years at Victoria Beach and he and Bette looked forward to their many winter vacations. The family wishes to thank everyone involved in the care of Ken, especially Bev the VON Home Care Nurse. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 30 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, entrance at Aubrey Street at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will be held prior to the service with interment to follow the service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
