MURTAGH GABRIEL LAVERY After a lengthy illness on September 29, 1999 at the Victoria General Hospital, Murtagh Gabriel Lavery beloved husband of Kathleen Lavery. Born March 25, 1914 in Newry, N. Ireland, Murt emigrated to Canada in 1956 and settled in Winnipeg with his family. Murt was an estimating engineer by trade and was well respected in the construction business. His calm manner and bright smile will be missed by those who knew him. Murt was predeceased by his parents, Murtagh and Annie Lavery; his brothers, Patrick, John and Michael; his sisters, Mona, Susan, Mary and Elizabeth. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 56 years Kathleen; daughter Bernadette Main; son John (Debbie) and daughter Moira Cole (Gary) grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, (Rod), Sean (Kim), Patrick, Heather and Shannon and great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jessica, Emily and Kaitlin (all of Winnipeg) and one sister in Ireland, Annie. Many thanks to the caring staff at the Victoria General Hospital for making his last days comfortable, to Dr. Scott Young, Dr. David Young and Joanne; Jimmy, Emmanuel, Avril, Linda and all the caring people from home care and to Monique and the wonderful staff from the V.O.N. A very special thank you to the most supportive circle of friends, Marg and Terry Williams, John and Joan Harris and Bev Robinson. In accordance with Murts wishes, cremation has already taken place. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2.
