He is survived by his five brothers, Denis, Rene (Therese Choiselat), Jean, Ivan (Eva Grandmont), Lucien (Gloria Baca) his two sisters, Jeannette and Emma; sister-in-law Henriette; brother-in-law Ben Cormier, plus numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Albert and Denise (Lavack) and stepmother Agnes (McLeod) he was predeceased by three brothers, Paul (1944), Bernard (1984), Gerard (1994) and one sister Lucienne (Cormier) in 1988. Robert was a devoted husband and father, a loving care giver and a friend to many. He was an excellent cook and a great host. His joy of living was often expressed by preparing meals for family and friends. Robert enjoyed gardening and beautifying his yard with flowers. He will be remembered for his generosity, his camaraderie and his willingness to assist anyone in need. He was known by many as Mr. Fix-It. Robert spent 25 years as a grocery store owner in St. Eustache along with his wife Lucie as postmistress until they retired in November, 1994. Robert was dedicated to his parish and his community. He was known for his active membership with the Knights of Columbus and his involvement with the Young of Hearts Club in St. Eustache. He was chair of the committee to help build the manor in St. Eustache and went on to become its first president in 1987. We love you and will greatly miss you. Special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and oncology staff at Concordia Hospital, to the V.O.N. nurse, and to St. Boniface Hospital palliative care staff and pastoral care for their compassion, love and concern.
