JOHN WALTER ASKEW After a lengthy illness, John passed away on Sunday, September 26, 1999 at the age of 78 years. John was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Elaine of 41 years, three brothers, two sisters, and one brother-in-law. John leaves to mourn his wife of eight years, Freda Mondor; a stepdaughter and two stepsons, Linda, Dan and Ken along with their spouses and children; one daughter Wendy, son-in-law Bob and two grandchildren, Amanda and Glenn; as well as four sisters, two brothers, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews, too many to mention them all. John was born in Winnipeg on June 6, 1921. John worked at Eatons for 40 years. Joined the R.C.A.F., taught Sunday School and served on several church committees. He was also a member of the Reh-Fit. A special thanks to Riverview Health Centre for their love and support for Johns last four years. In lieu of flowers, donations to Riverview Health Centre (CD-2), 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Following cremation, the funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4 at Regents Park United Church at the corner of St. Marys and St. Annes.
