Born: Aug 21, 1941
Date of Passing: Sep 30, 1999
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE HANCOCK August 21, 1941 - September 30, 1999 It is with profound sorrow that the family of Allan Clifford Wayne Hancock announce his passing on Thursday, September 30, 1999 at the age of 58 years. Wayne leaves to mourn his passing his sons, Trevor and Steven; daughter Shannon; grandson Jordan; former wife Judy and first wife Judy - his best friend in the last tragic months of his life. He was predeceased by his mother, Betty, and his father, Private Allan C. Hancock, who died at the Battle of Dieppe during the Second World War without having met his only child. Wayne was a passionate and driven man - during the course of his career, he was an accomplished salesman, excelling at his profession as evidenced by the numerous awards he received for his achievements. He was a prolific writer, having just recently completed his first book - a cherished labour of love. Wayne was a talented amateur cartoonist, revelling in political satire. He took great pride in his three children, loving them all with a fierce protectiveness ... as he said in his last days, I did the best I could. Dad, you can rest peacefully knowing that you were deeply loved by your family and will be in our hearts always - you truly did the best you could. The family would like to offer sincere thanks for the overwhelming love and support from friends and family - you have our deepest gratitude. There will be no formal service and flowers are respectfully declined, but friends and family are invited to attend an open house to celebrate Waynes life on Sunday, October 3 at 12:00 noon at the residence of Judy Leech, 1073 Strathcona Street. We cannot tell what may happen to us in the strange medley of life, but we can decide what happens in us - how we take it, what we do with it - and that is what really counts in the end. How we take the raw stuff of life and make it a thing of worth and beauty - that is the test of living. Mr. Hancocks arrangements have been entrusted to: Voyage Funeral home 220 Hespeler Avenue Winnipeg, Manitoba 668-3151
