RONALD JANUSZ (PPK INRZ. ROMUALD JANUSZKIEWICZ Peacefully, on September 29, 1999, at Concordia Hospital, Ronald Janusz passed away at the age of 93 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary; brother Mietek; second wife Helen; and daughter-in-law Marilyn. Ronald is survived by his four sons, Richard, Mark (Beverly), Ronald (Leslie) and Michael (Christine) grandchildren, Mark (Susan), Shannon, Randy, Andre, Marla, Carolyn, Adam, Nicholas and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Tyler; brother-in-law Robert Scott (Agathe) and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald was born in Baronowice, Poland on November 7, 1905. He was an officer in the Polish Armed Forces and also received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Warsaw. He fought in the Second World War as a part of the 2nd Corp with the 8th British Army achieving the rank of Major. He ended his military service as Lieutenant Colonel. He and his wife Helen came to Winnipeg in 1949 and he started to work at Bristol Aerospace as the head of the electrical department. He was a very active member of SPK (Canadian Legion) and later became President of Club 13. He was also President of the Canadian Polish Congress. He earned numerous medals as a soldier and as a leader of the Canadian Polish Community. Ronald was a caring peace loving person. He made sure that his family was well taken care of and got the best possible education. The family wishes to thank all the ladies from Home Care (Winnipeg) providing care for him the last three years, and also the doctors, nurses and staff at Concordia Hospital in his last moments. Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 4 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Ave. Fr. Fred Olds will officiate. Interment of Ronald and his wife Helen will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronalds memory to the charity of your choice.
