ETHEL PLAYFOOT It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Ethel Playfoot at Selkirk General Hospital on September 30, 1999. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Albert; son Brian; mother Ethel; father William McCullough; stepfather John Rutherford and brother Bill McCullough. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Carol Harrison and Diane Longley; grandchildren, Ken, Brent (Karen), Allan (Heather), Derek (Cheryl), Kim (Nick), Christine (Mike) great-grandchildren, Jina, Dylan, Alex, Marisa, Alyssa, Emily, Brianne and Adam; sister Marg (Frank) Dalman and several nieces and nephews. Ethel was born in Winnipeg and worked at Eatons for several years. Albert and Ethel retired to Netley in 1977 where they spent their summer months and travelled to Weslaco, Texas for the winter. She enjoyed curling, numerous crafts, scrabble and doing crossword puzzles. She was affectionately called Big Ma by her great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB with interment of ashes to follow in the St. Georges Anglican Cemetery, Wakefield, MB. A special thanks to the nursing staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and a special thank you to Dr. Fuchs for his care during her hospital stay. The family would also like to thank the girls from Home Care for looking after our Mother and a special thanks to Carol Wadien. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
