Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD PAUL LAUZE It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald Paul Lauze announces his death from prostate cancer on Sunday, August 29, 1999. Gerald was born July 23, 1933 to Gustave and Antoinette Lauze (nee Joyal) in The Pas, Manitoba. Gerald received his education in The Pas. Upon graduating from Margaret Barbour Collegiate, he joined his father in Lauze Construction. Over the years he contributed much to the development of downtown The Pas. In 1954 he married Shirley Schooley of Bowsman, Manitoba and together they raised six children. Gerald is fondly remembered by Cindy (Brian) Houston, Shauna, David and John of Calgary, AB; Lance (Cyndi) Lauze, Jordy, Jeff and Aubree of Saskatoon, SK; Kelly, Derek, Stevie and Cale Howe; Pat (Bruce) Perry, Lierin; and Todd Lauze all of Fort McMurray, AB and Kip (Sharon) Lauze of Langley, BC. He is also survived by his brother Bob (Ronda) and family of Australia, brother Ron and sister Carol (Fred) Thompson of The Pas and their children Tammy (Curtis) Hayden and Shawn Thompson of Winnipeg, MB plus many relatives and friends who will remember his quick wit and gentle nature. In 1980 Gerald and Shirley moved to Fort McMurray, AB where Gerald was employed in the construction industry. He worked most recently with Casman Construction. Services were held on September 7 from Our Lady of Sacred Heart Cathedral in The Pas and were conducted by Reverend James Ravenscroft. A touching eulogy was given by Geralds niece Tammy Hayden. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society for prostate cancer research, or to the Palliative Care Hospice Building Fund, P.O. Box 4537, Quesnel, BC V2J 3J8 would be appreciated. Geralds legacy of love is reflected in the faces of his children and grandchildren. This family urges all men 45 years and older to put modesty aside and go for a simple PSA blood test annually. Your life may depend on it.
