He was predeceased by brothers, Joe Sr., John and David; sister, Rosie Ann; brother-in-law, Jack Starr and granddaughter Elena, who he took care of and has gone to join her in happy hunting grounds. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his common law wife, Dorothy Nash; their six children, Estelle, Joanna, Angela, Darren, Vernica and James Jr; three brothers, Robert (Noella), Simon (Pat) and William (Noella) one sister, Mary Starr; sister-in-law, Margaret Kent; grandchildren, Patrick, Brian, Brenna, Holly, April, Shannon Lee, Krystle, Eileen, Roxanne, Brianne, Christopher, Chelsea and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Cherise and Meredith; nieces, Marie Theresa Hunter, Gladys Lorrianne (Ivan), Linda, Aldeen, Darleen, Rosie (Don), Margaret (Phillip), Shirley (Roger), Claudette (Jimmy), Matilda Rose (Randy), Rosemary (Caesar), Nadine and Verna; nephews, Clarence (Evelyn), Brian (Zelma), Alfred Alvin (Susan), Sam, Walter, Gregg, Joe (Marleen) Vernon and Byron. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, October 5 from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg. Wake services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, Thursday, October 7 and Friday, October 8 at the Wasabeemoong Community Hall, Wasabeemoong, Ontario. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. also at the Wasabeemoong Community Hall. Interment to follow at the Wasabeemoong Cemetery.
