FREDERICK ONOFREYO At peace, with his family beside him, Fred Onofreyo succumbed to his illness at Riverview Health Centre on Sunday, October 3, 1999. To mourn his passing Fred leaves his friend and companion, wife Germaine (Gerry) Onofreyo of the Middlechurch Home, daughter Caryl (Mock), son-in-law Harv Mock and and dearly loved grandson Tim Francis. As well, Fred is survived by one sister Eve of Quesnel, B.C. A heroic veteran of the Second World War, Fred was a gifted man who took pleasure in many interests including gardening, ornithology, reading and puttering around his home. His intellect and natural mechanical aptitude carried over to his career, too, which saw him retire as a respected Quality Assurance Inspector from Bristol Aerospace in 1989. The family would like to acknowledge the unconditional caring and compassion of the staff of Riverviews 3E Palliative Care ward who did so much to make Freds passing comfortable and peaceful. Cremation has already taken place and there are no plans for a memorial service. However, those wishing to do so may make a contribution in Freds memory to the charity of their choice.
