Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALTA ELVERA (HOLRITZ) TOLLEFSON Alta Elvera (Holritz) Tollefson passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, October 2, 1999 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, ND at the age of 90 years. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Bruce (Vivian) of Toronto, ON and Robert (Peggy) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; her grandchildren, Robert, Deborah, Jennifer and David of Toronto and Heather, Geoffrey and Laura of Winnipeg; her brothers, Clarence (Pat) of Newport Beach, CA and Bernard (Jeanette) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive. Alta Holritz was born January 27, 1909 in Almont, ND. She attended Carson High School, graduated from the North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo and taught at the High Schools in Minnewaukan and Page, ND. In 1937 she married her dear husband, Walter. Her sons were born in Walla Walla, Washington and the family subsequently lived in Vancouver, B.C. and later in Winnipeg, MB. She and Walter retired in Mesa, AZ where Walter predeceased her in 1971. Alta was also predeceased by her brother Aldolph in 1975. Alta was very active in her churches, Emmanuel Lutheran of Walla Walla, Dunbar Lutheran of Vancouver, Our Saviours Lutheran of Winnipeg and St. Peters Lutheran of Mesa, AZ. The family is extremely grateful for the extraordinary care and kindness shown to their mother for the last nine years by the staff of the Lutheran Sunset Home. A memorial service was held in Grafton, ND and interment will take place at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, AZ. Donations in her memory may be made to the Lutheran Sunset Home, 333 Eastern Ave., Grafton, ND 58237.
