LAURETTE GISLASON (nee GAUTHIER) November 16, 1936 - October 5, 1999 Part of the large family of Joseph Gauthier and Evinelda Catellier, Laurette attended school in St. Malo. She began her working experience at an early age. Her career involved work in the St. Boniface Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital and the Catholic School Division in Calgary. She began her working relationship with Air Canada in Montreal, transferring to Toronto and finally back to Winnipeg. She really enjoyed working with the kids at Air Canada and the extended trips she took with them. Laurette was a lively determined person. Family life was very important to her. She surrounded herself with things of beauty which we shared and enjoyed with her. Her deep faith in God sustained her throughout her life, especially during the final months of her illness. Laurette was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Evinelda; husband Gunnar; and husband John. She is lovingly remembered by nine sisters and five brothers, nieces and nephews. Colleen always had a special place in her heart and her aunts and uncles were also very important to her. Special thanks to the Oncology Department of St. Boniface Hospital, Dr. Nene Rush, V.O.N. nurse Mariette and sister Claire. Special thanks to all who kept Laurette in their prayers. Laurette was our princess. Peace and Love Cremation has taken place. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St., Winnipeg. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Paroisse de St. Eugene, 1007 St. Marys Road with Fr. M. Toupin presiding.
