She was predeceased by her sister Myrtle and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Walter Pitura, Art Volrath, Willie Steinke, Leslie Picken, Frank and Mary Fraese, William and Myretta Fraese and William and Annie Kaminsky. Lillian was born August 3, 1913 to parents Julius and Augusta Grabowski. She married Walter Fraese on February 24, 1933 and resided in Lea Bank, MB. Our mother, a strong and determined woman worked hard to make their homestead into a prosperous farm. Many hours were spent feeding livestock, unloading grain as well as the running the household. Our mothers objective was to ensure that we were always well fed and well dressed. She was a wonderful cook and no person ever left our house feeling hungry. Lillian enjoyed dress designing and sewing as well as gardening and being a member of the Morris Horticultural Society. She loved her annual shopping trips to Grand Forks with her dear sister Esther. She received great joy from her grandchildren and numerous nights were spent at Grandmas house with special treats and a card game or two. Mom spent 14 winters in Mesa with husband Walter and during that time I dont think we ever beat her at shuffleboard. In later years when her health began to fail, she did not complain but chose rather to ignore her problems and carry on the best she could. Mothers laughter, sayings, strength, love and caring for us will always be remembered. Our family would like to thank the staff at the Red River Valley Lodge for the kind care provided to our mother. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Brunkild at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8. Interment to follow in the Brunkild Cemetery. Arrangements by the Morris Funeral Home, 1-204-746-2451.
