GEORGE ALEXANDER SMITH With sorrow and loving memories we announce the passing of George Smith. George leaves memories of his life with his wife Elsie Smith; daughter Evelyn Pentland, her husband, Edward and their sons, Jeffrey (Astrid), Curtis, and daughter Kathleen (Peter) son George Smith and his wife Diane, their daughter Cassandra (Marshall) and their son Don (Jackie). George also leaves a brother Jack (Millie) and their family. George was born on February 7, 1913. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. He was employed by the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission for 38 years retiring after many years as Store Manager. George was a Past Master, Windsor Masonic Lodge. Our family was blessed with a kind, positive and gentle man. We will remember his support and wisdom always. He was the kindest husband, father and friend, always supporting the needs and wishes of others. At Georges request, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service held. Flowers are gratefully declined. George valued the kind assistance and love by members of the staff of the Deer Lodge Centre and for that we give them thanks. Friends and acquaintances who so desire may make donations in memory of George Smith to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation.
