GEORGE FRANCIS TRICK On October 2, 1999, George Francis Trick, beloved husband of the late Clementina Trick, passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Born 1912 in St. Boniface. Predeceased by his beloved wife Clementina in 1991. Survived by his sister Nell Fremeau of Stroud, Ontario; his sister-in-law Jean Trick of Winnipeg. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. His loss is mourned by his life long friend and bat catcher, Russell Wuckert and his more recent friend, Sam Jacobson, both of Winnipeg. George was an accomplished athlete for much of his early life, active in many sports both as player and coach. His particular passion was baseball. He pitched for Dowse Sash and Door and in 1928 moved to pitch for Canada Bread in the Industrial League. He was affectionately known as The Deacon for his mild manner and speech. George worked for Canada Bread until he retired, except for a period in Trail and Vancouver during the War, working on heavy water plant construction and ship building. He lived in recent years at the Life Care Centre where he made many friends. He will be missed by us all. Many thanks to Dr. M.L. Cummings and the kind people at Victoria General Hospital where George spent his last few months. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Peace be with him and yours. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
