Mom was predeceased by her husband Frank (1964) her parents, George B. Kelly and Rosamond A. Kelly (1958) her brother George W. Kelly (1967) and sister-in-law Joan Taylor (1998). Mourning her loss are moms beloved family; daughter Patricia Opalko (Garry) sons, Hugh (Judy) and Frank (Sandra) niece Cathy Kelly (Roy Chapman) grandchildren, Kenneth, Sue-Ann, Tricia and James; grandnephew grandson Michael Chapman and her four great-grandchildren, A.J., Zach, Marcus and Evan. Born in Winnipeg, April 23, 1911, mom graduated from Daniel McIntyre in 1929 and immediately started her long and enjoyable working career. Highlights are - secretary to Miss Charlotte Whitton, secretary and bookkeeper at Eatons, bookkeeper at Murrays Garage in Souris, executive secretary to The Rev. Dr. W.C. Lockhart at United College, secretary supervisor with Family Allowances and Old Age Security Division, Health and Welfare Canada and Canada Pension Plan. Mom was regional vice-president of P.S.A.C. union from 1972 until 1976. After retiring in 1976 she worked as secretary-treasurer of Young United Church until the age of 77. As a 15 year resident of Lions Place she was active as a volunteer and part time staff member. She was particularly proud of graduating from a three year personal course and leadership training course for seniors at the University of Manitoba in 1991 at the age of 80. Gentleness, kindness and unselfishness characterized moms disposition. Her beautiful smile and positive outlook lightened everyones heart. Moms greatest love was her family and the joy she felt when all her family were together. Marjories Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 1:30 p.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue.
