SAMUEL MASON On Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at 3:40 a.m. Samuel (Sammy) Mason of Poplar River, MB left us peacefully in his home at the age of 80 years. Family members were by his side. He was born on July 25, 1919 in Island Lake, MB. He was recently predeceased by his youngest brother, Amas Mason of Wassagomack, MB on August 31, 1999; his sister Jessie Mary Anderson (nee Mason) of Winnipeg, MB on July 16, 1997. He has gone to be with his parents, Charlotte (Campbell) and Alex Mason; his sisters, Jemima, Edith and Nancy. His oldest brother Cubby Mason; his daughters, Linda Therese, Eleanor (Mason) Bruce, Veronique (Mason) Kent, Christina Charlotte and son-in-law John Robert Kent. He leaves to mourn his wife of 49 years Minnie Lena Nina Mason (nee Douglas) sons, Lloyd Sam (Jeanette) Mason of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Aaron Bruce, Shane and Destiny; Emile John (Evelyn) Mason and granddaughters, Jessica, Kara and Claudia of Poplar River; Langford (Samantha) Mason; grandchildren, Cheyenne Beaudry, Langford Mason Jr., Michelle Hudson and Dallas Michel of Winnipeg; daughters, Marilyn (Noel) Mason; grandchildren, Bridget and Elliott of Poplar River, Monica Mason of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Jordan Samuel, Mariah and Clayton, Lillian (Alastair) Mason; granddaughter Misty Eleanor Dawn of Poplar; grandson Sheldon John Kent. He also leaves numerous friends and relatives of Poplar River, Winnipeg, Norway House, St. Theresa Point, Garden Hill and Wassagamack, MB. Active and honourary pallbearers will be Alex Bruce, Noel Bruce, Chris Paul, Sheldon Kent, Aaron Bruce, Cornelius Mason, Elliott Mason, Richard Mason, Donald Bittern, Alastair Green, Donald Mason and Perro Bruce. Funeral mass will be held at Poplar River Community Church at Poplar River, MB on Thursday October 7 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Cyr officiating. Burial to follow at Poplar River Cemetery. The dearest father, beloved husband, uncle, grandpa and friend, One of the best whom God could lend. He was loving, gentle, thoughtful and true, Always willing a kind act to do. It is not tears at the moment shed That tell how beloved is the soul that has fled, But tears through many a long night wept, And loving remembrance fondly kept. WE LOVE YOU, PAPPA.
