Leith was born in Dugald, Man., April 21, 1932 moving to Pilot Mount as a young girl where she later met Ez. On April 30, 1951 they were married and in 1952 began their business adventure with Macleods Ltd. which lasted 42 years. Our mother, a strong, loving and determined woman worked hard to make a wonderful home for her family, later working side by side with her husband as an indispensable business partner. Mom spent six winters with husband Ez in Mesa, Arizona, a highlight of her life. Perhaps one of the most known special traits of our mother was her love of animals. Many a stray dog or cat found a soft hand, warm heart, heaping bowl of food and more often than not, a permanent home with mom, becoming an important part of our family and moms life. Over the past two years, when her health began to fail, she did not complain but chose rather to ignore her problem and carry on the best she could. Mothers laughter, strength, loving and caring for us will always be remembered. Despite being extremely ill, mom managed to stay in the safety of her home until six days before her passing. This could not have been possible without the support of her family, friends, physicians, and special friend Pam King for her consistent caring and reliability. Thank you to everyone who have walked this journey with Leith over the past two years. In accordance with Leiths wishes, cremation has taken place and a service of remembrance will be held at the Pilot Mound United Church, Pilot Mound, Man., Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery. If desired, donations to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3 or Rock Lake Palliative Care Unit, Box 86, Crystal City, MB, R0K 0N0 would be greatly appreciated. Grahams Funeral Service of Pilot Mound in care of arrangements.
