PETER DERKSEN Mr. Peter Derksen, aged 79 years, beloved husband of Eva of 55 years (nee Sobering) of Beausejour, Man., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 6, 1999 at his home. He will also be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his son Glen and his wife Eleanor of Vancouver, B.C.; his son Dennis and his wife Theresa of Calgary, Alta.; his daughter Dorothy Joan and her husband Remi (Chic) Haywood of Beausejour, Man., his daughter Gail and her husband Michel (Kiki) Bohemier of Lorette, Man.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters, also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Peter was employed by the Department of Highways for 27 years, retiring as District Supervisor. He was a Legion Member for 49 years in the Steinbach and Beausejour branches. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E., Beausejour, Man., Rev. Kelly Thomson and Rev. Jerry South will be officiating. Friends and family may view on Friday, October 8 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. also at the Sobering Funeral Chapel and prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Peters memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
