NORMA HORTON (nee ANDREWS) Peacefully, on Wednesday, October 6, 1999 at the Concordia Hospital, at the age of 81. Norma was predeceased by her three brothers and one sister. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Art of 57 years, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Norma was born in Miami, MB on September 14, 1918, one of five children to Jack and Tilley Andrews. The family farmed in the district of Carman, until they sold the farm and moved to Winnipeg. It was there that she met and married the love of her life Art. Norma worked as a clerk at Zellers, while Art served overseas during the Second World War. Shortly after Arts return from overseas, it was then that they moved to their dream home on Garvin Road. It was there that Norma pursued with interest, her second love, that being the breeding and showing of championship standard and mini Dachshunds. During their 30 years on Garvin Road, Norma was very active in many local dog clubs and became a lifetime member of the Canadian Kennel Club. Norma was also a member and avid supporter of the Winnipeg Humane Society. Norma will be lovingly remembered for the love and care she always expressed to "Her Little Dogs". She will be sadly missed by her many special friends in Canada, USA and England. Norma will be especially missed by her little friends Robbie, Gimpy, and Donovan. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Maysic and staff of the Concordia Hospital. At Normas request, cremation has taken place and a small graveside service will be held on Friday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m.. Following the interment, a reception will be held at Chapel Lawn Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Wpg., MB R2L 1X3. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
