PASTOR HENRY LAURENCE COOK October 7, 1940 - October 6, 1999 Surrounded by family and friends, Laurence went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He leaves behind (but only for a short time) his devoted wife of 27 years, Florence; sons, Laurence Jr. (Tina), Kelly (Teresa) daughters, Candace, Yalonde (Camillo), Stacey and Carol; grandchildren, Jessica, Vicky, Ethan, Tyler, Sonny, Leah, Lenahah, Carl, Sabrina and Kelly Jr.; brothers, John Cook (Paula) sister Katie Harper and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and many, many friends. Laurence was predeceased by his father Donovan Cook; mother Ann Cook; brothers, George Bear, Bill Cook and mother-in-law Victoria Sinclair. Laurence was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who took great pride in his children and grandchildren. At the time of going home, Laurence was pastor of Scanterbury House of Prayer and had been for many years. He was commited to God, his family and his congregation. He never waivered in his responsibilities, even though his eyesight was failing and he could no longer read the print, he still prepared his own sermons with the help of daughter Stacey who was his eyes. Wake services will be held Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9 at the community hall in Scanterbury. Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. also at Scanterbury Community Hall. Evangelist Janet Altice and Pastor Ray Cornish officiating. Interment to follow in St. Clements Cemetery, Selkirk, Man. Pallbearers are Daryl Sinclair, Doug Sinclair, Norman Leveque, Clarence Thomas, Walter Greyeyes and Ed Longbottom. Fontaines Funeral Service in care of arrangements.
