DOROTHY MARKUS July 6, 1927 - October 8 1999 Peacefully, on Friday, October 8, 1999, Dorothy Markus, much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away after a brief illness. Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her loving husband Norman, of 52 years of marriage; her children, Ronnie (Bev) of Winnipeg, Norman (Terry) of St. Andrews, Richard (Toni) of Duncan, BC, Jim (Maureen) of Oakbank, Teresa Gmiterek (Louis) and Stephen (Kristy) all of Beausejour; her grandchildren, Ronnie Jr., Sean and Keli of Winnipeg, Kerris (Chris) of Grand Cache, AB, Kristina, Kim and Ryan of St. Andrews, Teresa and David of Duncan, BC, Cory (Kristal) and Shane of Oakbank and her great-grandchildren, Nadia, Kayla and Taylor; her brother James Chagnon and her sister Roberta McQuade. Mom was predeceased by her mother and father, Alfred and Eva Chagnon; sisters, Pearl and Helen; brothers, George and Bobby and great-granddaughter Sarah Jane. Dorothy had the greatest love of life and family. Her most treasured times were spent surrounded by her family, celebrating any and all occasions. "Youll be forever in our hearts and memories." We would like to extend our thanks to the doctors and nurses at Beausejour General Hospital as well as the Homecare staff, especially Paula, who ensured that Mom was so comfortable at all times. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beausejour Hospital Building Fund. The tide recedes and leaves behind Bright seashells in the sand. The sun goes down, but a gentle warmth Still lingers on the land. The music stops and yet It lingers on in sweet refrains For every joy that passes Something beautiful remains.
