DOROTHY AGNES FORD Peacefully on October 8th 1999, our beloved Mother and Grannie, passed away at Meadowood Manor at the age of 84. Predeceased by her husband Les Ford, and her brother George Shaw, she is survived by her loving son Raymond, daughter-in-law Brenda, grandchildren Lesleigh, James, and Jennifer and her great-grandchildren Dylan and Taylor Morriseau. Dorothy was born on October 26th, 1914 in Hamilton, Ontario. She moved to the Riverview area of Winnipeg in 1952 with her husband, and kept the family home there until 1995. Dorothy had great success as a salesperson at Hurtig Furs and later as manager at Lee Kepron Fashions. Her love of life was infectious and she made life fun for those around her. The Ford cottage at Caddy Lake, built by Dorothy and Les in the early 50s, will miss her warmth and hospitality that welcomed everyone into her home. Although Dorothy spent many happy summers at the cottage, she also loved traveling to exotic destinations with her dear friend Gladys Lipsett. She delighted in a good game of bridge, valued friendship and cherished her family. Dorothy was a lady of great style, not only in her appearance, (which was impeccable at all times), but in her ability to remain positive even when life was difficult. We will remember her enthusiasm and energy and continue to be supported by her unconditional love. The family thanks all the staff at Meadowood Manor for their kindness and guidance during the past years. A service to celebrate Dorothys life will be held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Trans Canada Highway #1 East on Monday, Oct 11, at 4:00 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society.
