I met Gordon and Carol while a student in (I think) my 2nd year as a Sociology / Psychology Major at La Trobe university in the northern Melbourne suburb of Kingsbury. I have fond memories of the student trips we had away into the Victorian Hugh Country. I recall fondly that he always called me “Professor” which, as a mere undergrad student always gave me a thrill. I recall visiting Gordon and Carol and their young children in Watervale Road. Happy times and very fond memories. - Posted by: Ross Baxter (La Trobe student and friend) on: Jun 16, 2021

I still remember Gordon to this day. I once was his student and then I worked in the same research unit at the Faculty of Social Work in University of Regina for three years. He was a real human being, cared for his students and spoke to them as equals. I remember feeling sad when he left UofR to go to Prince George, but even sadder when he passed away. Peace and love to his family and rest in peace, dear Gordon. - Posted by: Lili Zwart (Student ) on: Sep 12, 2014
