Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her husband Alexander; her son Gregory and his wife Cathy; her daughter Pamela and her husband Ned; grandchildren, Kelly, Myles, Kimberley and Christine; her surviving sister Lillian; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Florence and James Reid Lindsay; brothers, Jock, Jim and Bill and sisters, Anne, Flo, Mary and Jean. Rey was born in Winnipeg on September 4, 1927 where she attended public schools, completing her formal education at Norwood Collegiate. She worked for a short time at Eatons in the Accounting Department and later at Sears. She met her husband, Al, at a social club called The Yakka Club and were married on July 24, 1948. They enjoyed a social occasion last summer amongst family and friends to celebrate their 50 years of marriage. They began married life in Crystal City where Al taught school and when he joined the Canadian Navy in 1949 Rey settled in as a navy wife for the next 25 years living on the West Coast, the East Coast and three years in England. Rey often reminisced about her summers spent at Grand Beach when she was a youngster telling us all about the Dance Hall and how her brothers would haul ice from the train to the cottages. In later years, she enjoyed winter vacations south of the border and summers at the cottage at Victoria Beach. She was an active member of the Grace General Hospital Auxiliary for 10 years and made many good friends among the Thursday Girls. Funeral Service for Rey will be held on Friday, October 15 at 10:30 a.m. in Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive with Major Vi Chaulk officiating. Our family wishes to thank the medical staff serving on the 5th floor of the Grace General Hospital for their kind and considerate care. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Reys memory to either the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, 740-500 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3X1.
