STEPHEN DONALD JACOB CHOKEN (Little White Bear) September 8, 1996 - October 11, 1999 Suddenly, at home, on October 11, Stephen left to watch over us from heaven. Stephen was born at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern. His family moved to Winnipeg four months later where they resided for his short life. He attended Mount Carmel Special Daycare. Stephen comes from a large family with relatives consisting of the Swans, the Chokens, the Maytwayashings and the Pauls. He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, Andy Choken and Patrina Swan; his little brother Kaehl; his grandparents, Willie Choken and Donald Swan and Phyllis Swan; his Godparents, Brian and Emma Maytwayashing; other relatives, Dawn and Kevin Choken, Glenda Swan, Justin Swan, Mike and Patricia West, Darlene Choken, Julius and Sharm Choken, Daniel and Norma Choken, Isabelle Choken, Willie and Claudette Choken, Anne (friend Warren), Janet (friend Albert) Choken, Rena Bone and Darren Choken. Stephen was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Doreen Choken; great-grandparents, George Swan and Florence Paul; great-aunt Emily Paul; cousins, Coreen Choken and Branden Swan. A wake service will be held on Thursday, October 14 at Brian and Emma Maytwayashings residence on Lake Manitoba Reserve beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church will Father Ernest Kamath officiating. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba Reserve Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tracy Spence, Christian Spence, Sheldon Monkman of Lake Manitoba and Mervin Chadney of Leaf Rapids.
