LAURA KERR Peacefully on October 10, 1999 at the Grace Hospital, after a long struggle with cancer, Laura left us. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Kerr, brother Archibald Jackson and sister Margaret Hobbs. She is survived by her sisters, Dugalda Dugie Robinson of The Pas and Joan Joanie Jackson of Toronto; as well as her extended family, the Kirtons; and many nieces and nephews. Laura grew up in The Pas and came into Winnipeg to pursue her nursing career; she graduated as Registered Nurse and worked for many years in this field. Laura also grew up around horses and was passionate in her love of riding; she was an accomplished equestrian and won many awards. Laura leaves us with a legacy of goodwill and kindness to others. She was a volunteer of the No. 1 Royal Canadian Legions Hospital Committee for years. She received the Provincial Governments Volunteer of the Year award for all that she had done. This gentle soul will be greatly missed by all her relatives and friends. Our peace will come from knowing she is once again with Uncle Bill and happy. A memorial service will be held at Kerrs Funeral Chapel, 120 Adelaide St., on Friday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment took place at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Laura may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 1 Poppy Fund. Kerrs Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. Phone 943-6688.
