Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS YAWORENKO Peacefully, on Sunday, October 10, 1999, Nick Yaworenko passed away at the age of 70. Nick is survived by his wife Shirley of 32 years; son Nick Jr. (Joanne) and granddaughter Vanessa; daughter Lillian (Paul) and grandson Brian of Matsqui, BC. He is also survived by his twin sister Elsie Wiebe and husband Henry; brother George Yaworenko and wife Leslie of Matsqui, BC; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Colleen Rollwagen of Ottawa, Ontario, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Nick was born January 21, 1929 in Winnipeg in Point Douglas area and attended Norquay and Aberdeen Schools. Nick started his working career at age 12 and after many difficult jobs, worked for the City of Winnipeg in District One for 40 years, and retired in January 1989. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as other sports. His most recent joys came from his two grandchildren Brian and Vanessa. Friends wishing to pay their respects may call to Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Thursday evening, October 14 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 15 at 2:30 p.m. also at the Chapel. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Wasnie, Bob Wasnie, Bill Wasnie, Mike Ostafichuk, Ed Yeung and Robert Rollwagen. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Nicks memory to the Canadian Diabetes Society, 102-310 Broadway Ave., R3C 0S6 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., R3C 2B7. Though you are gone, we shall always remember you in our hearts. We will miss you dearly, and hope that wherever you are, there is only happiness.
