WILLIAM (BILL) HANCHARUK Peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 12, 1999, William (Bill) Hancharuk passed away at Victoria Hospital, aged 79, beloved husband of Pearl (Kuchera). Bill was born August 8, 1920 in Ukraine and came to Canada in 1949, residing in Winnipeg. He worked as a labourer for many years and most recently as a cook for the University of Manitoba for 27 years, retiring in 1985. Bill sang in both Holy Family and the Millennium Choirs and was very active and supportive of Ukrainian Cultural Organizations. He was a lifelong member of Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Parish. Left to cherish his memory along with his loving wife Pearl are children, Irene Leperre (Bob) and Raymond (Jeanette) beloved grandchildren, John, David and Alycia; many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and brother in Ukraine. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Friday (tonight), October 15 at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16 also at the church with Rev. A. Wach officiating. Interment will follow in Garry Memorial Park.
