LUCIA M. OYAS Peacefully, on Tuesday, October 12, 1999 after a lengthy battle with cancer, Lucia Oyas, age 49 years, beloved wife of Alex Oyas passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Lucia was born in Mankayan, Banguet, Phillipines and youngest of three brothers and five sisters. She came to Canada in 1975 and later met and married Alex on June 25, 1977 in Winnipeg. Together they raised a son, three daughters and two grandchildren. Lucy provided her care at the Golden Door Geriatric since 1976 until disabled in 1998. She was actively involved with Couples for Christ. Lucy was predeceased by her father in 1979. She is survived by her husband and children, Christopher (Khamvila), Jerilyn (Keochay), Michelle and Karen and grandchildren, Keolyn and Ariel. Left to mourn her passing are her three brothers, Fidel (Linda) Ringor and Juanito (Virgie) Ringor of the Phils and Ambrosio (Angie) Ringor of Winnipeg; four sisters, Patricia (Camilo) Luspian, Mercedes Cabico, Rosalia Aguirre of Phils and Felisa (Theodora) Estepa of U.S.A.; sister-in-law Esther (Norton) Oyas-Asang of Winnipeg. Sadly missed also by nephews and nieces in Canada, Marife (Cesar) Cadag, Cheryl and Ambrosio Ringor Jr. in U.S.A., Randy (Pamela) Ringor, Rose-Angeli Ringor, Luzviminda (Raffy) Villanueva, Nellie (Mitz) Bongawil, Rudy (Abe) Estepa, Leonor (Jun) Calinisan, Bernadette (Edgar) Libatique, Gabriela Estepa, Josefa (Lizenseld) Vulker of Germany and Joseph (Jocelyn) Luspian of Italy. Liberty (Gabby) Bulalhog of Abu Dhabi, Maxine (Ergs) and Marijune Aguirre of Dubai, UAE. Other nephews, nieces and grandchildren in Phils and abroad too numerous to mention. Lamay will be held on Thursday, October 14 from 9:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at Kynsh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Lamay will also be held on Friday, October 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. also at the chapel. Prayers beginning at 8:00 p.m. (Friday). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 16 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. Msgr. M. Comeault P.H.V.F. and Fr. G. Svoboda co-celebrants. Interment Assumption Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mario Tuazon, Ambrosio Ringor Jr., Rene and Eddie Estepa, Norton Asang, and Nelson Michael. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital 5th floor during her final days for their care and accommodation and all the doctors, nurses and care-givers from other facilities for their continuous care until her passing.
