JODI DORIS AGNEW (nee NICOL) Suddenly on October 13, 1999 Jodi Doris, beloved wife, daughter, sister and auntie and soon to be born son, Spencer Cole Peanut, were taken away from us as a result of a traffic accident. Jodi and Spencer will be lovingly remembered by Steve Arthur Agnew, husband and Daddy to be; Jodis parents, John and Eva Nicol; sisters, Jane (Len), Jackie (Will), Joanne (Bill), and Jeannine (Darryl) her mother and father-in-law, Art and Pat Agnew and brothers-in-law, Greg and Todd. Jodi was born in Winnipeg on October 20, 1967. Jodi enjoyed life and was very involved in many activities. She attended Dugald Elementary School and graduated from Springfield Collegiate in June, 1985. Jodi loved children and through this love she studied to become a teacher at the University of Manitoba. Jodi graduated from University in May, 1989 and began teaching September, 1989. Jodi taught at Shaughnessy Park School for all of her too very short life. Jodi was an energetic teacher who always gave all she could to her students and peers. She will be sadly missed by many at her school, especially her friend and colleague Susan. Jodi married Steve on October 10, 1992. Together they had many wonderful times. Their wedding was beautiful as was their marriage. They spent numerous vacations together and worked together to build a beautiful home and yard. Jodi and Steve have been busy preparing to become parents. All of us know that they would have made wonderful parents. Auntie Jodi will never be forgotten by Richard, Cory, Brendan, Brittany, Jonathon, Jesse, and Greggie. She was the highlight of every family affair. She always was taking her gang to some sporting event or activity. The kids loved spending time with their Auntie Jodi and Uncle Stevie. Jodi loved all sports and was very athletic. She was a good sport and true competitor. She shared this love of sports with all of her students through coaching a variety of school teams. Jodi played an instrumental role in her community as a developer of sports. She presently was the Secretary of the Springfield Curling Club and helped establish the Springfield Mixed Orthodox League. Jodi loved curling and especially enjoyed curling with her mother Eva and husband Steve on Thursday nights. Softball was one of Jodis favourite sports. Her dad, John taught Jodi and her sisters the game and they have all continued to play as a team. One of Jodis special talents is crafts. She loved to make beautiful wreaths, paint woodwork or decorate a room. She had a special talent when it came to hosting and preparing special events. Jodi was a perfectionist and she never did anything but her best. Jodi touched the hearts of everyone she met and she will be missed by all. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service for Jodi and Spencer will be held on Saturday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastview Community Church, 3500 De Vries Avenue (just inside the North Perimeter). For those friends who wish, remembrances can be made through flower or balloon arrangements or donations in memory of Jodi and Spencer to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3J2; or to the Winnipeg School Division, Childrens Heritage Fund (Shaughnessy Park School), 1641 Manitoba Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2X 0M3. It breaks our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Though your smile is gone forever And your hand we cannot touch We will never lose the memory Of one we loved so much. Thanks for the loving years you gave us The happy times we shared We all pray that when you left us You knew how much we cared. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again. WE LOVE YOU JODI AND SPENCER! Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Mrs. Agnew was the best teacher I ever had. My family moved to MB in 1995 and I was in her grade 3 class. She was beautiful, loving, caring, funny, smart just a great person. Its 2013 and I still think about her. I moved away in 1996 and was not in the same district my heart broke when I couldn't attend my 4th year in her split class. When I found out she had passed my heart broken into a million pieces. May she RIP and never be forgotten. - Posted by: Michelle (Student) on: Feb 09, 2013
