WINNIFRED LOIS MITCHELL (nee STANBRIDGE) On Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at Middlechurch Home, Win, a much loved mother and grandmother, passed away at age 85 years. Win was predeceased by her husband Robin Mitchell in 1971; three brothers, Wallace, Harold and James Stanbridge, and one sister Eff Roberts. She is survived by four children, Bonnie (Doug) Edkins of Pinawa, Brenda (Bruce) Rand of Winnipeg, Bob (Carol) Mitchell of Clearlake, Marlene (Lorne) Lewis of Red Deer, Alta.; one sister Marion Weeks of Brandon; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Win was born and raised in Stonewall and she had many fond memories of her years spent there. She moved to Winnipeg after marrying Robin in 1941, and lived in the Fort Rouge area for 50 years. Win retired from the Hospital Commission at age 65 and after her retirement enjoyed the many activities and people at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre. She was an outstanding athlete and enjoyed sporting activities throughout her life. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimers Society. Funeral services will be held at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. on Monday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment in Garry Memorial Park. Peace be yours.
