Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA DOROTHEA REMPEL (KLAASSEN) Martha Dorothea Rempel passed away October 11, 1999 at the Morden Tabor Home. She was born September 10, 1919 on the home place five miles North of Morden to Michael and Katharina Klaassen. She was baptized on confession of her faith in 1938 at the Harold Mennonite Church near Morden. She married Bernhard Rempel, July 21, 1940. Martha was an active member at the Morden Bergthaler Mennonite Church of Morden. She enjoyed the Bethel Ladies Aid and she wrote several articles for the Churchs 50th Anniversary book Milestones and Memories. Marthas home life was busy with cooking, baking, sewing and music. Everyone who dined at her table was delighted and satisfied with the spread of cooking and baking. Her expertise in sewing could be seen in the clothes she and her children wore. Her talent in music was used for Gods glory and was a comfort in the latter years of her life. Our morning family Bible devotions were lead by her and we had many discussions with her. In 1982 Martha and Ben moved to 10th Street in Morden. They enjoyed several more years of retirement, and then began her 12 years of an emotionally painful journey with Alzheimers Disease. Eventually she could no longer do the tasks that she so loved and enjoyed. In 1992 Martha moved to the Tabor Home. Marthas life in Christ touched each of us and the memories will live on in our lives. Martha leaves to mourn her five sons, Leo and Heather Rempel from MacGregor, their children, Brendan and Zoe; Theo and Joan Rempel from Kansas, their children, Jodie and fiancee Jim, Travis, and Justin; Norman and Dorothy Rempel from Winnipeg, their children, Delaeno and wife Micki, Nathan, and Lewis; Edgar and Cathy Rempel from Winnipeg and their children, Pamela and husband Harold Fast, and newborn son Simon Conner (first great-grandchild), Jeffrey and Michael; Alfred and Dorothy Rempel from Thornhill, their children, Jason, Marlin and Murray; two daughters, Doris and John Unrau from Morden, their children, Andrea and Erin; Irene and Jake Pauls from Ontario, their children, Virgil and wife Brenda, Myron and wife Amber; one sister Esther Bergen from Winnipeg; one brother Karl Klaassen from B.C. and their families. She is predeceased by her husband Bernhard Rempel; her parents, Michael and Katharina Klaassen; three brothers, Albert, Edmund and Herman; sister-in-law Agnes and step-sisters, Helena, Margarethe, Anna, Marie, Agatha and step-brother Johannes. Viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden, and at the church prior to the service.
