Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEANNETTE WILKIE (nee TURNBULL) On Sunday, October 10, 1999. Jeannette Wilkie, 96, of Edmonton, formerly of Winnipeg, died peacefully at home. Jeannette Turnbull was born in 1903 in Beeton, Ontario, and moved to Elva, Manitoba in 1905, where her family helped to establish a thriving community. For several years before her marriage to John Wilkie, she taught in rural Manitoba and Alberta and also enjoyed working in the Royal Bank. Throughout her life, she provided quiet, steady support to family and made lasting friendships with many who came to know her. Jeannette was predeceased by her husband John; sister Cora (JH) Murray and brothers Kenneth and Franklin Turnbull. She will be remembered with love by her daughter Dale Wilkie; sister-in-law Kay Turnbull; nieces, Mona Murray, Gay Hughes, and Glenys Love; nephews, Kenneth Turnbull and John Kesson; many grandnieces and nephews; cousins, Marion and Barbara McNaughton and members of the Wilkie and Macgregor families. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the Home and Palliative Care divisions of Capital Health and to attendants supplied by Olsten Health Services, especially Marieka Warners and Linda St. John. Following cremation, memorial services will be conducted by Jeannettes nephew Rev. K.F. Turnbull at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, reception to follow.
