Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSS GERALD HEATH Peacefully, after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones Ross passed away at Victoria Hospital October 13, 1999. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean of 46 years; his daughter Bonnie Dubienski and grandchildren Katherine and Stephen. He was predeceased by his loving daughter Gerry in 1993. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Blouw and the staff of the Acute Medicine 5th floor ward of the Victoria Hospital for their compassion and competence. Dad was born July 9, 1930 in Glace Bay, Cape Breton Is, Nova Scotia. He was very proud of his Maritime heritage. He was the only Deaf child in a family of 11 children. He attended the School for the Deaf in Halifax, NS where he achieved excellence and excelled in sports. His passion for sports continued throughout his life. Twice he shared his expertise as National Chairperson for the Canadian Deaf Curling Championships in 1981 and 1987. His work at the Winnipeg Tribune newspaper was a joy for 27 years which led to many wonderful friendships and good times at the Winnipeg Press Club. By far his greatest love was for his family and friends. He was generous in every way. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of Ross life at St. Georges Crescentwood Anglican Church, 168 Wilton St. on October 19 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, the Independent Interpreter Referral Service or the Sign Talk Childrens Center.
