ANNE JAMES Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on Friday, October 15, 1999 Anne passed away at the Oakview Place Nursing Home at the age of 79 years. Anne was born on March 10, 1920 in Winnipeg. She began her work career at Paulin Chambers and made many life long friends there. On May 17, 1947 she and Ken were wed and began a lifetime partnership that lasted 50 years. After their wedding, Anne was a homemaker and in later years a loving mother as well. She enjoyed baking, sewing, playing cards with friends, summer trips to Sarnia and before she was stricken with Alzheimers she loved spending time with her grandsons. Remaining to forever cherish Annes memory are her daughter Carol Howard (Richard) two grandsons, Richard and Ryan; brother Don; brother-in-law Bill (Margaret) in Calgary; and many nieces and nephews across Canada. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband Ken in 1997; her parents; brothers, Roy, Ernie, Bill, Jack, Raymond and Eddie and by her only sister Lily. On Monday, October 18 at 11:30 a.m., Annes funeral service will be held in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. Interment will follow and Anne will be buried beside her husband in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Annes memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2.
