LLOYD WALTER KING On Friday, October 15, 1999 with his family at his side, Lloyd passed peacefully to rest in the comfort of his home. Lloyd was born in Gimli on July 7, 1946 the eldest son of Walter and Emily King. He was predeceased by his father Walter in 1990 and his infant brother Melvin in 1948. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of thirty three years, Sharon, daughter Tammy (Randy Poole), son Ryan (Daylene Grewinski) granddaughters Nicole and Rachelle, mother Emily; and his brothers Alvin (Valerie) and Ken (Darlene), of Arborg. Also sisters-in-law Heather and Gwen (Neils) brothers-in-law Henry (Betty), Bill (Karen) and Arnold (Shirley), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In 1966 Lloyd began his training at MIT (Manitoba Institute of Technology) as an electrician. In the spring of 1967 Lloyd started out on his career working in northern Manitoba on various construction sites in Thompson, The Pas, Manibridge and Jenpeg, where he also took his flying instruction. In 1980 Lloyd moved to Lac du Bonnet where he worked at AECL for eight years, and then on to Winnipeg Hydro in Pointe du Bois where he was employed at the time of his passing. Lloyd had a love of flying, tinkering, hunting and auction sales. Nothing brought him greater pleasure than fixing something that everyone else had given up on. Seventeen years ago Lloyd discovered his love of travel and each winter headed out on a new adventure. During the summer months camping, festivals and visiting with friends and family were the norm for the weekends. Lloyd first became a Grandfather in 1992 when Nicole was born, and again in 1994 when Rachelle was born to Tammy and Randy. His girls brought him many treasured moments. Lloyds love of family and friends will live on forever in our memories. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, MB. Honourary Pallbearers will be Alvin, Ken, Tammy, Ryan, Randy and Harlan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
