ALVIN MILO SRIGLEY 1908 - 1999 Suddenly, on Friday, October 15, 1999 at the Victoria General Hospital, Alvin age 90 years beloved husband of Mildred of Winnipeg, Man. Al was a firefighter with The City of Winnipeg Fire Department in the 1930s and early 1940s. He was a founder of the Civic Employees Credit Union and helped other groups to form Credit Unions. Later, he was a general contractor in California for many years. Al loved music and was the Deputy BandMaster of the Calvary Temple Brass Band in the 1930s. He taught many young people how to play a variety of instruments. He was very active with many seniors groups through Age and Opportunity and was the founder and leader of the Seniors Phil Harmonica Band, which is still active today. Some may also remember Als TV programs on subjects like hypnosis and positive thinking. Besides his wife, Mildred, remaining to forever cherish Als memory are Mildreds children, Darrell Lynds (Linda) Skip Lynds (Jay) Barry Lynds (Sandra) and Dani Burch; Als children, Jim Srigley (Alice) Jerry Srigley (Lil) and Susan Gareau (Dennis) sister, Nettie Hayward (Frank) and her son, Bill Good (Joyce) Mildreds grandchildren, March Laird, Jaclyn La Bossiere, Robin Lynds, Michael Lynds and Jeff Simpson; Als grandchildren, Andrea Srigley (Larry) Cathy Lindgren (Carl) Terri Srigley (Neil) Jennifer Srigley; Denys Gareau; Brigitte Pichon (Chris) and Jeff Lewis (Audra) as well as numerous great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. In compliance with Als wishes, a private family Funeral Service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9.
