CHARLES BROWER Charles Brower died peacefully at Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on October 15, 1999. He is survived by his wife Barbara; children, Shannon, Paul and Chris; grandchildren Ashley and Natasha. He was a gentle and loving husband, father and grandfather. He generosity, caring, and warmth were a source of strength for his family. He was an inspirational role model and mentor. Family and friends will remembered his gentle good humour, great wisdom, and above all, his unfailing positive attitude and deep spiritual strength. Whenever asked How are you doing? he would always answer Better and better. He believed that life is beautiful and challenging. His passion for basketball and football was a great source of enjoyment throughout his life. One of the highlights of Charlies life came after high school when he joined the Winnipeg Stellers Junior Mens Basketball Team. In 1950, they played 50 games, travelling across the country, until finally winning the Canadian Junior Championship. They repeated this feat in 1951. The team was later inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. The friendships he made with his teammates lasted a lifetime. Charlie also had a passion for work and for the company he built over the last 25 years. He spent many long hours building it into the success it is today. While it was hard work, he thoroughly loved what he did. The family wishes to express sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ian Maxwell and the nursing staff of the Oncology Department, Dr. David Young, and the nurses and staff of the fifth floor at the Victoria General Hospital. Thanks to the staff of Browels Manufacturing, whos hard work and dedication was very much appreciated.
