LILLIAN AMELIA DODD (nee COOPER) 1910 - 1999 Peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side, Lillian slipped away. Born in Tranmere, England, June 28, 1910, she came to Canada in 1934 with her parents and sister. They resided in St. Vital where she became a long time member of St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church. As a member of the young peoples group, a leader of the Girl Guides, the churchs choir and later the Ladies Auxiliary, she was always very active. In 1934, she married John Robert Dodd. They had 38 happy years together. They were known for their New Years Eve parties and dances in their home. Lillian was an avid member of the St. Vital Agriculture Society, taking many prize ribbons for her baking, quilting, crafts and sewing. In later years she moved to the C.O.F. Haven where she enjoyed happy times with the friends she made there. Lillian is predeceased by her husband, John; parents Frank and Sarah Cooper; sister Gladys Read; granddaughter Patricia Kitchen and Grandson Bobby Van Fleet. She is survived by her step-son Bert (Clair) of Ireland, step-daughter Dorothy Van Fleet of Ontario; grandchildren Tom and Lori and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces, Diane Froggatt (Ray) and Judy Whitaker and three great-grand nieces, Gail, Joan, Sherri and their families. Lillian was warm, loving and energetic, always helping others. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and most of all, friend. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the care-givers and nursing staff of Vista Park Lodge. Special thanks to Helmut and all those staff members who were so kind and helpful. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a donation to the Alzheimers Society, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, or to a charity of choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
